School District For Tracking Assets
Imagine this: It is a couple days before the annual audit; you don’t have all items accounted for, let alone have the hands on deck to help locate your valuable goods. Now you are in a rut; how can you perform a correct audit and fix the tracking system that got you into this mess?
A similar situation occurred for Edgewood ISD, a large school district in Texas. The district’s administrators sought to establish a better tracking system, but felt they were too deep in the current system to foresee another solution.
Deep in their Dilemma
Prior to the audit, the school district reached out to EMS Barcode Solutions to see what could be done to prevent future auditing back-ups. They currently used Microsoft Access and an active directory to keep track of IT gear and furniture. Deep in the dilemma, Edgewood staff and administrators found themselves looking for missing signatures on checked-out computers and valuable IT equipment. In addition, the district needed to adhere to budgets and Title I funds.

We showed them how Wasp Mobile Asset could instantly integrate with the active directory and Access Database, and allowing a real-time interaction between the two programs. Also, to avoid confusion, the software could store signatures and documents tied to assets, therefore documentation was always up to date.
To address their other needs, we showed them the built-in audit feature of the software. It had ability to organize the database of assets before the auditor arrives, thus, preventing a strained auditing process. They previously had iPads and Wasp barcode scanners in place for the system, and were excited to reap the software benefits.
